Jannat with Orange Jacket - A review (heartfelt one!)

Gentle reminder , I have already given a disclaimer in my first blog that I am neither a writer nor a blogger all that I do is I just think out loud , feel out loud 😝 and scribble!

And this time I am scribbling a review ...

One fine morning I was scrolling through my Insta feeds and there I see a post from "oneintheorangejacket" for upcoming trip to Kashmir-Leh on Aug 20-27 and I simply forwarded the post to other person who has similar mental disorder like me and being my usual self I dramatically say "We ll goooooooooooooooooooo" and she says "Haan chalo ".. thats it ! our trip was planned.  That just means scrolling through Instagram should get little more credit than it usually does And I am glad we chose "oneintheorangejacket" to go to so called "Jannat" ;)

Now its time to applaud our trip leader, because she deserves it, none other than Tasneem Rangwala a.k.a two_itchy_feet and its true I tell you !!! she really does have itchy feet , because this one doesn't stop ! She's either on top of mountains or on top of things to be done! We already had started flirting 😝 before the trip itself through her puns, my lame jokes and bursts of over enthusiasm we both have. So when we met at Srinagar airport I introduced "I am Flossy" and she says "I know !!!" that was super sweet , I instantly smiled.. and about the gang, we all were from different parts of the country and from different phases of life .. If our trip leader was not able things could go south very easily, given it was an interesting herd.  But our little shepherd did really a good job tending this mad herd! Well done miss ITCHY FEET 🙌

Some of my favourite moments from the trip:

  • A visit to the floating market near Nigeen lake. What a morning ! we all had to wake up at 4.00 am to get there on time, on the other hand I was terribly sick with cold, cough etc , that chilly morning breeze while on Shikara was making it a bit worse.. but this whole experience was so so soul filling that I am sure none of us including the sick me regretted waking up at that early , It was totally worth it :) and yes the authentic Kashmiri Kawah helped me a bit with cold and energised me ! I am not going to write more, you all go visit and thank me later ...
  • Picnic on the mountains by the river. Special thanks to oneintheorangejacket  for this one ! This was one out of the world experience. Everything was just perfect starting from the calming sound of water, cool evening breeze , mountains , greenery all round and then Chai accompanied by Onion Pakora (and other snacks too) and some silly card games....... if you ask anything more in life , You are greedy !

  • Just like how I had a best person in the driver's seat in my Sikkim trip, universe again blessed me with
another amazing one. Journey would not have been the same without you Sajjad bhai ! everyone appreciated you so much.. Then there is not so proud moment, I was coughing throughout the trip and used to sit right behind him in the Traveller and by the end of the trip I had given the gift of Cough which he absolutely did not complain about. Bhaiyya .... Sending a lot of good vibes from here (and not cough!!) , dil se chahti hoon sab kuch accha ho aap ke saath :)
  • Drive from Srinagar is spectacular with mesmerising landscapes ... no spoilers for you, go witness  yourself once !
  • Last and the least oops sorry but not the least!! 🙊 my fellow Madrasis and North Indians , you guys were simply amazing !! Can never forget our infamous Karaoke night in Lamayuru when everybody's ears were bleeding yet we did not give a damn !!  Sorry Lamayuru !! Hoping to cross paths with you all again ❤️

This trip was really really challenging for me as before the trip , while on trip and a
after the trip I had series of health issues ... It was a true reminder of that cliche saying "Health is Wealth" for me.  As a result I had so many tantrums to throw .. and this one person stuck by me, heavy lifting all those tantrums I threw, taking care of me and being by side literally !! sometimes you meet YOUR people in most unexpected ways and so is our story ! Our bond, chemistry, pagalpan is most unique and beyond words .. let's just be US always !! 😘😘😘 To many more trips together to come and I promise not to fall sick next time 😝

How-much-ever sick and tired I was throughout the trip , now when I look back and think about the time spent there, by default I only think of the beautiful moments we all had and the picturesque views that soothed our soul .. Is that the beauty of traveling ?
